No More Suckies

Well, the day has finally come.....NO MORE SUCKIES!!!!! It's official, Ryan and Noah haven't had a suckie in 2 weeks! I started weaning them when we moved. I only allowed them to have them for naps and bedtime. I didn't even let them have them in the car! Then one night they started chewing holes in them and in just a few short days, they all had holes. I saved all of them and they threw them in the garbage and said "bye bye suckie". And that was it. The first night Noah cried for just a few minutes and Ryan didn't even make a peep. The second night there was nothing and on the third night it was the toughest. They cried and asked for them but never again after that 3 night. I am so proud of my babies and SO happy to be done with suckies forever! It's a bitter sweet thing like most of their milestones. Mostly because I know that they are our last babies. But here's to Ryan and Noah's BIG accomplishment.

Loving our new pool

I have to say, now that we have a pool, I don't know how we ever lived without one. It is so nice to be able to just walk in our backyard and enjoy a swim whenever we feel like it. And with the heat these days, this gives us something that we can do outdoors without sweating our butts off! Here are a few Tyler from last nights swim.

Monterey Overnighter!!!

Well this past weekend we took our family to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We had such a great time and the kids really loved being by the beach. No surprise there. We spent most of the day at the aquarium on Saturday and looking at all the sea life. We even got to see the sharks being hand fed in the big tank. We ate at Bubba Gumps for lunch and walked all around Fisherman's Warf that night. The next day we spent running along the beach, playing in the sand and looking for shells and sand dollars. Tyler found 7! Here are a few pics from our adventure.

Ryan and Noah Get A Makeover!

Mommy finally did it......I cut off their beautiful blonde baby locks! I was SO nervous about doing it because I was in denial they were getting older. But....I am so glad I did. Just when I thought they couldn't get any cuter. I think they look more alike now. What do you all think?

Summer Fun

After dinner I decided to take the boys outside for some much needed play time. Since the weather has been so hideously hot we haven't spent much time outdoors lately. But tonight was much cooler and I decided to build my boys a water slide. They had the best time and I didn't even bother to put a suit on them. I figured they could just go in their clothes! Here are some pictures of their fun. Oh yeah, and after their baths I was outside cleaning up the mess and they were making another one on my windows! But it was funny so I had to take some shots. I love their sense of humor.

A Day of Firsts

Today we had several new things for our boys. First off, it was the first time Ryan and Noah were out on the boat! I was feeling a bit sad for them since Tyler's first boating experience was when he was just 7 weeks old!!! But I guess it's better late than never. Anyways, we had an awesome day with just us and Ted and Diane. We decided to go early so we could be done early and out of the heat before it got too bad. 106 today! We got on the water about 8:30 am and were off by 12:30! It was the perfect amount of time, the weather was perfect and the water was a perfect 79 degrees! Tyler did a little tubing with daddy and for the first time he wanted to go all by himself! That's my little independent man. He totally enjoyed it and daddy taught him how to dive off the back of the boat too. He LOVES the water.

As for Ryan and Noah, well they did equally as well. There were NO tears with the life vests and NO tears in the water. They swam all over the lake and laughed and squealed the whole time. They even got to go for their first tubing ride together with mommy! They looked SO stinking cute with their matching shorts, life vests, orange sunglasses and of course their "suckies" on the ride too. Ryan almost fell asleep. He just kicked back on me and enjoyed the wind in his hair. They also brought their favorite leopard and white tiger on the boat too. Those things are toted around just like their blankets and suckies. ha ha. We had such a great day and the best part was that we beat the heat and had most of the day to just hang out in the nice air conditioning.

The other big part of today was Tyler lost his first tooth!!!! It was a very exciting event. He asked mommy to check it and I pulled it out. He said it didn't even hurt. Then he called Grandma Cheri, Papa Ken, Nana and Papa Ted and even his best friend Dylan. He put his tooth in a plastic bag and is patiently awaiting for the moment he gets to put it under his pillow for the Tooth Fairy. So here are the pictures of Tyler's tooth. Sorry everyone but I didn't have my camera for the boating fun and Nana forgot to check the battery in their camera and we realized it was dead in the middle of the lake. Oh well, I guess we can let that one slide! ha ha. We'll get some on our next boating trip.

Tyler "Calling His Shot"

So as I said at Tyler's first game, he hit a home run his last at bat. This Friday he had his second game, finally, after a few rained out games. I gratefully got to stay the whole time to watch him. His second at bat he took a page out of history with the famous Babe Ruth "calling his shot" stance. I was thrilled to have had my camera out and got a picture of it. What a confident little five year old. We laughed so hard when he did it. He didn't hit a home run that time, but smashed it into center field! He really is going to be an awesome ball player.
